Different Types of People: Peter & John Everyone Else

Everyone Else: Handed over (traded) Jesus for another, Denied the holy and righteous one, ”Greatly amazed” (surprised) by the miracle

Peter & John: Intimacy with Jesus (3 years of discipleship, mount of transfiguration, Peter walking on water, etc) Fruit of that intimacy: Understood the Authority (Name of Jesus) and Understood the power (Holy Spirit) they had through Jesus, Put faith into action through obedience

The Nature of Cruise Ships: Tailored to human indulgence; Designed to entertain; They offer nearly every kind of creature comfort possible; Self-contained and inwardly focused

--How do we know if we're a Cruise Ship? *Are you going through the motions and just checking the boxes of “religion”? Have you heard the teachings of Jesus and your life was relatively unchanged? Are there areas of your life that you are “handing over” Jesus for someone or something else? (Idol) Are there any areas of your life that you are “Denying” God access to? Are you surprised when you see God perform the miraculous or is it expected?

The Nature of Rescue Boats: Designed and equipped for the purpose of rescuing the lost and distressed; More concerned with function than comfort; Outwardly focused; more concerned about those needing rescued than the occupants of the boat; Designed to deliver rescuers to a world in need

The Nature of Battleships: Also has the capability to perform rescue of the lost and distressed; Function is to locate enemy activity, eliminate the threat, and restore peace to assigned territory; Crew is cohesive, disciplined, and battle ready at assigned positions according to their training (or giftings); Crew has a high level of awareness of the mission and goings on of the environment around them
